Q.Do You Cut Dead Wood From Previous Year For A Butterfly Bush?
My plant is in its second year. It did not start growing until very late in the spring – I thought it was dead. Do I cut the old wood or leave it alone?

Yes, cut off the stems from last year. Butterfly bush blooms on new growth.
Typically, in early spring, cut back your butterfly bush to about 6 inches to 1 foot from the ground. New growth will form.
