Most likely environmental issues.
Water, temperatures, sunlight, pollination.

I do like to use Epsom Salt in my vegetable and herb garden.

It can give a boost to the vegetable production.
You can mix in water and apply, but when I'm busy I like to just sprinkle approx. 1/8 cup at the base of my plants then water it in. Do this once a week.
