Q.Do my wooden planter boxes need treatment before planting?

Zone coastal Southern California Zones 10-11 | Anonymous added on June 12, 2020 | Answered

They are cedar and I would like to know how to treat them. They are cedar wood and I need it to be as easy as possible. We have to paint them to match our townhouse in order to keep uniformity for the HOA. I would rather paint them turquoise.
Thank you in advance for your help.

You can line them with thick plastic to prevent any issues with the wood, water and soil. Be sure to poke holes in it for drainage.
