Q.Do My Tomatoes Have A Disease?

Zone 22191 | Anonymous added on July 29, 2024 | Answered

I can’t tell if my tomatoes are diseased or if they just look ratty this year. This is my first year growing in my new raised bed, so I ended up crowding them. I don’t want to infect the soil for next year. Thanks! Oh, I also have some droopy mammoth sunflowers and I’m not sure if that’s normal or if something is wrong. It’s my first time growing them (pic 3)

On the sunflower, if you mean the droopy flower heads, they are supposed to nod like that as the seed is drying.

On the tomatoes, you seem to be getting leaf rolling as well as thin, curling leaves. These articles should help decide what is causing it. Also check under the leaves for aphids or other chewing insects. It doesn't look like a disease unless it's a virus. Watch for mottled-looking leaves.
