do i have to blanch cauliflower before harvest

I think my cauliflower is ready for harvest and I never blanched it. This is my first time planting it. Can I still eat it and is there an over ripe time when it’s not edible?

Here is a link that explains blanching. I personally do not blanch my cauliflower and I thinks it’s flavor is wonderful.
