Do I Cut the Gardenia Flowers Off After They Bloom?

Do I trim off the dead gardenia bloom after it has turned brown? And do I include any of the leaves on the stem or just the flower? I live in Florida and they just finished blooming beautifully.

You can deadhead the flowers, but they do not need it. Simply pinch the blooms once they have died back at the base of the bloom, taking care not to disturb any new buds that may be forming.
