Do I cut back the stems of my giant lillies?

I planted some giant lillies last year and they flowered beautifully last year. Now i’m left with just the giant stems – do I cut them back to ground level or just leave them alone? Many thanks for your help, much appreciated. Christine

A Japanese Maple should grow in your climate. A well draining soil is needed.
