Q.DIY bug spray for plants

Zone Coventry, Rhode Island | CaseyB78 added on June 22, 2019 | Answered

Hello I made the spray for the bugs with soap and vinegar and water I sprayed my veggies around dinner time yesterday and now a lot of my leaves are turning white?? I hope I didn’t kill my veggies… there are tomatoes, peppers, broccoli, and zucchini. …. I did exactly what the recipe called for and also looked at a few other sites to make sure it was right… thank you

Many plants are very sensitive to vinegar. It is a very effective herbicide to kill plants and weeds. It is best to test any recipe on a VERY SMALL part of the plant first to see how each one responds. This recipe will not work for any plant that is even slightly sensitive.

I recommend many other pesticide methods before vinegar. This article will help you to craft pest control methods that are safe for all plants: https://www.gardeningknowhow.com/special/organic/natural-home-pesticides-organic-garden-pest-control.htm
