Dividing bulbs and other summer perennials

Can you divide hyacinths or daffodils in the spring when they finish blooming? And when do you divide day lilies? And how do you go about doing it?

Division of your Hyacinths and Daffodils can take place after blooming and when the foliage is dying down, this way you can see where the bulbs are.
