Q.Diva Cucumbers Are Not Setting Fruit

Zone 62420 | jleach2020 added on May 13, 2020 | Answered

Hi, I am growing a Diva cucumber plant in a 5 gal. hydroponic system. Diva cucumbers have only female flowers. I have a lot of female flowers but the fruit is not setting for some reason. Any suggestions? Thanks

It sounds like a lack of male flowers. There can be no fruit without pollen. Usually, you want to plant multiple, since they will often set male and female blooms at different times. Otherwise, you will need to collect any instances of male flowers and save the pollen or anthers. it is necessary to hand pollinate cucumbers for fruit set. They will not self pollinate.
