Q.distressed silver dollars what do I do?

Zone Fillmore California | kessenich1 added on May 15, 2014 | Answered

I bought several 15 gallon sized silver dollar eucalyptus trees 4 weeks ago. Since then 2 of the trees have started to dry out, leaves are brittle and gray. Could it be stress? Too much water, not enough? Disease or rot? Please, any suggestions will help.

Newly purchased trees should not develop rot in 4 weeks. Most likely the roots dried out. This article has some useful information: https://www.gardeningknowhow.com/ornamental/trees/eucalyptus/tips-growing-eucalyptus.htm
You can have an analysis of roots, branches, and leaves done at the Extension Service. This link will help you locate one: https://www.gardeningknowhow.com/extension-search/
If there is disease present, you should be able to get new plants from the place you purchased. Don't put new plants back in those exact spots, though.
