Q.Diseased Tree

Anonymous added on September 5, 2011 | Answered

I have a large maple in my yard and have firewood and potting soil stored near, but not touching. I have noticed that the tree is losing leaves and branches are dying. Could this be related? The firewood is replaced each season and this only started happening last year, after 5 years with no sign of change.

Firewood is only a problem with ash trees. It is likely not the wood or the potting soil. What are the symptoms on the tree? Are there yellowing leaves, spots or other things? Any details you can give on how the branches go when they die will help us identify what is wrong with it.
