Diseaes of oriental persimmons – Fuju

I have lost 3 Fuju persimmons over 4-5 years due ti what appears to be something like fire blight in pears. The tips turn black and eventually this propagates down the stems to the trunk and the tree dies. The disease is similar to vermilion wilt in tomatoes. Is this something in the soil in my yard that I can not control and thus can not grow domesticated/Japanese persimmons in my yard?

Thanks

I would also encourage you to contact your local County Extension Office. They are a valuable source of information on your local environment and what diseases may be effecting your trees.
