Gardening Know How Questions & Answers - https://questions.gardeningknowhow.comI have two dogs that love to run around like lunatics, and in doing so, killed all the grass, weeds, whatever was green and growing in my yard. I have tried several types of grass seed, but none hold up to the abuse. I live in Central New Jersey, and am looking for some suggestions as to how to get something growing back there. When they run around now, it looks like the dust bowl from the 1930’s.

There is one option that I could recommend. This plant can withstand foot traffic, as well as drought. Another plus is that it is completely maintenance free.
Herniaria can be the perfect substitute for this area. This article will give you more information on the plant: https://www.gardeningknowhow.com/lawn-care/lawn-substitutes/green-carpet-lawn/herniaria-green-carpet.htm [1]
