Q.Did You Test Honey Locust Trees In Alkaline Soil, Because They Prefer Slightly Acicic Soils
I worked at Kamloops Hospice gardens for 10 years, there was a honey locust there, with one tiny sprout on it, dying in the 8-9 ph soil, when it was removed, put into a pot of potting soil with mostly peat moss it started to sprout, so we added sulfur to the soil, planted a new honey locust which thrived.

They CAN tolerate higher pH with absolute PERFECT care, however, they prefer slightly acidic soils. They are well known to tolerate, less-than-perfect, conditions.
