diatomaceous earth

if rain means another coat of diatomaceous earth, then you have to reapply after watering every day, right?

This depends on the results you are trying to achieve. If this is for insect control then yes. But there are other methods that I like, and they don't require daily application. If it is fr something else, then it may not be necessary to reapply.
