Gardening Know How Questions & Answers - https://questions.gardeningknowhow.comD.E. has been backwashed from a swimming pool filter to an area of the yard where I want to plant Nellie Stephen Hollies. Unless it has additives, it will be safe to plant. My concern will be the chlorine from the water. This will, usually, gas off fairly quickly, but any solids will dissolve into the soil. You may want to get a soil test kit to make sure that the area is safe for the plants before you set them.
