Holly is generally regarded as a plant rarely bothered by deer. They are often used as deer resistant hedges. You do need male and female though to get berries. Blue prince and blue princess are usually sold together as cross pollinators. http://www.gardeningknowhow.com/ornamental/shrubs/holly/how-to-tell-the-difference-between-a-male-and-female-holly-bush.htm [1]
