Q.Deadheading hydrangea petals, not flowers

Zone 83455 (Zone 5, I think) | caroltaylor58 added on June 16, 2019 | Answered

Deadheading hydrangea petals, not flowers. Several of my hydrangeas have individual petals that are turning brown though the entire bloom is relatively healthy. Should I remove the browning petals or is that a symptom of something else? Thank you

Please include photos. This can be normal to a degree. Photos will help me to determine whether this is normal bloom degradation, or something possibly more sinister.

In the meantime, this article will help with the care of hydrangeas: https://www.gardeningknowhow.com/ornamental/shrubs/hydrangea/growing-hydrangeas-hydrangea-care-guide.htm
