Q.Deadheading Hibiscus

Anonymous added on May 11, 2011 | Answered

I’m new to hibiscus. I just received two tropical hibiscus plantsĀ for Mother’s Day. My question is: once the flower has fallen off, do you pinch off the pod it was in or just leave it be?

While you can deadhead if desired, this practice is not necessary. Your plant will be fine left as is. Pinching out the pods could actually inhibit additional blooming later on.
