deadheading

Can I cut off dead flowers on plants after they are done flowering or do I have to wait till in the fall when I clean out the bed?? These are plants that are not like a marigold or petunia where you constantly pick off the dead flowers so that they will keep blooming. These plants flower, then are done for the season, such as hostas.

Yes, you can deadhead your flowers as the flowers fade anytime throughout the growing season. Many plants actually benefit from this.
