daylilies

I’m expanding my patio and need to move several daylilies. Is it ok to put them in 12″ pot and store them in my garage till spring? I live in northern NJ.

Day lilies are extremely tough. I think you can go ahead and plant them as long as the soil isn’t frozen solid. If it is, you can put them into pots and keep them in the garage till spring. Yes, it should be just fine to pot them up and store them in your garage until spring. Just make sure they remain dry during their dormancy, as moisture may cause the bulbs to rot.
