Darker green/Yellow spots – Fertilizer?

Hello,
I replaced the grass on my backyard in May 2017 (3 months ago). The contractor spread fertilizer on the dirt before they placed the new grass. I’ve been watering the grass daily, at the beginning for 15 mins per station, now 10 mins per station.
I’ve noticed the clippings are not as green and as tall as they were when I started to mow the grass. I’ve also noticed in the middle of the yard a spot where the grass color has turned into a darker green, almost as if the grass wants to dry. In addition to that, I noticed that my dogs are peeing on the same spot killing the grass! haha.
My question to you is:
Should I fertilize my back yard right now (Summer) to help with the dark green spots on the grass, and the give the vibrant green color the grass had before? I included a picture with tiki torches, that’s how green the grass was about a month ago. (June)
The dogs have moved their peeing to another location!

I would check with the contractor on the type of grass that was laid in your yard. This will help determine a fertilizer schedule, though spring and fall are the most common application times.It does take about 6 weeks for deep roots to develop. Your sod may not be all rooted at the same depth, accounting for some color differences.
