Gardening Know How Questions & Answers - https://questions.gardeningknowhow.comI have a dappled willow-hakuro nishiki shrub. It has white and pink flowers and is about 6ft+ high. I would like to trim it and propagate the plant to other locations. When is the best time to do it, and do I need rooting compound on cut stems? How long should cuttings be?

This can be done very easily, and usually without rooting hormones. They produce their own in the form of salicylic acid. They can be propagated easily in soil, sand, perlite, or water. It is best to use a 6 inch or greater cutting.
