Damaged Iron Plant Leaves

My well established, old Iron Plants took a hit this summer with too much Texas heat and not enough water. Many of the plants have burned leaf ends. How do I get rid of these burned ends? Should I cut the plants back to ground level? Try to cut out only the burned leaves at ground level? Cut off just the burned ends? (The plants line the front of my north-facing house.)

I would normally advise to cut out the browned leaves, all the way down. But from the photo it appears that would be a big job and would mean 50% of the foliage.
Cutting the entire bed down is possible, and with good water management and fertilization, next spring and summer it will start to come back. But it may take a couple of years to recover completely.
