Cypress vine indoor

I started my cypress vines indoors a month ago…which I was told was too early. They are doing great; however, they are doing so great that they are tangling up in the next plant. Twice a day I have time untangle them to separate them. I talked to a local nursery and was told to try and stake them. The possibility of last frost in IL he said is around the middle of May. Can I cut the vines without harming their trailing and then put some kind of bamboo stakes in? I’m just worried that pruning them will hurt them this early on.

Your plants look beautiful!

Easy solution, purchase 3 or 4 inch pots, peat pots would even be great.
Move the small plants into the new pots using a good commercial potting soil.
This will give each plant the room to grow until you can plant outdoors.
Place a small stake in each pot.

You mention you are in Illinois, which has growing zones from 5a to 6a in the southern part of the state.
Cypress Vine is hardy in zones 6-9.
