Cutting Tulips

I have 3 questions which do not appear in the Flowering Garden Tulip segment.

1. When you cut tulips for show in a vase, does it ruin the plant for next year’s flowering?
2. Also, when can you cut the stem after the petals have fallen off?
3. Is it correct to cut the leaves when they turn yellow?

It will not hurt the next flowering season when you take cuttings from the plants. You can cut the stem off any time once the flower fades; however, do not cut the yellowing foliage, as the plants require this to make energy for new bulbs.
