Cutting Orange Tree Branch

Hello, I cut a group of oranges from my tree today. There were about 6 on a branch all grouped together so instead of pulling them off the branch, I cut the branch. Very thin branch. Will this damage the tree or keep the tree from producing oranges from that branch in the future? I can provide pics if needed. Thanks Matt

I don't think it will hurt the tree but I would go ahead and cut the branch all the way back to the trunk so as not to leave a stub. Generally, late in the year trimming is frowned upon because it can induce new growth that can be damaged by frost.
