Cutting Green Bean Growing Tips

Question

I have heard that once pole beans reach the top of the poles, the growing tips should be removed. Is this recommended or is it even necessary? If it is necessary, what does it accomplish?

We would not recommend doing this. It puts unnecessary stress on the plant while it is producing fruit and could affect your harvest.
