Q.Cutting Back Leaves of Amaryllis

Anonymous added on July 1, 2011 | Answered

I live in west Texas and would like to know if it would be OK to cut back the long green leaves of the amaryllis at this time. They are in the way of some crepe myrtle bushes and other flowers. I cut the flower stems back after they had shown their best.

Those strap-like leaves are collecting energy for next year's bloom. Let them turn yellow before you cut.
