Cutting back hibiscus plant

I live in the northeast, and I just brought in my hibiscus plant which I keep in a pot all year round. It is kept in a sunny location in my home before the first frost until early summer, when I bring it back outside into the garden.

It still has plenty of buds blooming, but is very leggy. Is this a bad time to cut it back?
I have read that the best time is in the spring; however, this stays sunny and warm all year round.

Please advise.
Thank you so much!
Chris

You can tip prune your plant really anytime, this will help improve it’s shape and reduce the legginess.

You can then give the plant another prune in the early spring.
