Cut Christmas tree living in water since Christmas

My Christmas tree bought from ikea in early December is still alive, standing in water outside my back door. Can it go on living....can I do anything to support it living? Many thanks for any suggestions. Sharp

Unfortunately, cut Christmas trees cannot be replanted. They can last for a while in water but will eventually die. The following article describes a way to make cuttings from a Christmas tree to possibly regrow. It's difficult but worth a try:
