Q.Cultivating vanilla
Good afternoon Mrs Grant (Bonnie),
My name is Inez Randolph and I am writing to you from Ghana. I am thinking of startin vanilla growing on a large scale in my country (West Africa).
To be honest, I have no clue. I am not a Gardner nor do I know anything about agriculture. I just love flowers. My husband thinks this could be a lucrative job for us to take up!
Saw your article on growing vanilla pods and would LOVE if you could give us some tips PLEASE.
What type of soil do we need? How should the soil content be? Which area? A lot of shade, no shade? How often do we need to water? How do we start the whole planting process and how long can we expect to ‘reap’ any benefits?
