Cross Pollination of Pumpkin and Cucumber

I have some pumpkins that are green with orange on the side that was in the dirt, that someone told me have cross pollinated with the cucumber plant that was planted too close. . . . Could this be?

No. It is not possible. Squash and cucumbers are in two different families. It would be like a cat and a dog producing offspring. It just can't happen. This article will explain more:
