Crepe Myrtle Tree Root System

I would like to know if the crepe myrtle tree has a tap type root for spreading. I would like to plant it about 3-4 feet from a retaining wall. I do not want the roots to end up cracking the wall by trying to spread up against the wall.

While they do not usually have an extensive root system, it is always recommended that they be planted at least 5-10 feet from foundations, walkways, etc.
