crepe myrtle pruning

I didn’t get to cut the old blooms off after they finished blooming. Now they have dried up and the tree is now putting on new growth. Do I need to remove the dead blooms or will they fall off after new comes on?

Don’t worry, it will not harm the tree for them to stay on. The old blooms will fall off as new growth comes in. If it makes you feel better, however, you can go ahead and trim them off anyway.
