Q.Crepe Myrtle Problem

Zone 77494 | reggieut@aol.com added on August 27, 2021 | Answered

My Crepe Myrtle was full of leaves and very healthy looking until a week ago. Now, it’s shedding its leaves and looks distressed (diseased?). It’s located in a slightly shaded area. I’ve been watering it a little bit every day because of the heat. What do you think the problem is, and what can I do to help it? Thanks !

Likely, overwatering. The soil needs to dry out down to about 2 inches, thoroughly, between waterings. You will need a fungicide, and you may want to feed since nutrients have probably been washed out.
