Gardening Know How Questions & Answers - https://questions.gardeningknowhow.comI bought a Dynamite crepe myrtle a few months ago and although it looks healthy, it has not bloomed and it is near the end of July. The tree is about 6 1/2 feet tall, and I live in northern Virginia. Is there a reason it did not bloom? There aren’t any buds on the tree like I see on other crepe myrtles that are in bloom. Was there something I should have done so it could bloom? This is my first crepe myrtle, so I am new to caring for one.

Most likely the lack of blooms this year was caused by the stress of the transplanting just a few months ago. Once it establishes itself, it will start blooming. If you continue to see problems after this year, this article will help: https://www.gardeningknowhow.com/ornamental/trees/crepe-myrtle/crepe-myrtle-not-blooming.htm [1]
