Crepe Myrtle (No Foilage or Blooms)

Last year I planted a crepe myrtle bush and have been carefully tending to it this year. It is summer and it should be blooming; however, it has no leaves, it is still alive, and of course, no blooms. Could I have planted it too deep and it not have enough oxygen? What do you think?

Your crepe myrtle should have leafed out by now. I’m pretty sure it’s dead, but you can always wait and see if you get new shoots from the root.
