Q.Crepe Myrtle

Anonymous added on March 2, 2014 | Answered

I live in central TX, and we had a couple weeks of very cold weather this past Jan. I think one of my crepe myrtles got a bit frost bite. I’ve seen others that look just like it. Turned brown and dry looking. Will it come out of it and what should I do?

This article should help you with that: https://www.gardeningknowhow.com/plant-problems/environmental/tips-for-saving-cold-damaged-plants.htm Minor pruning may be necessary depending on the damage, but I would wait until it's safe to do so in case of another cold snap. This article should help with that as well: https://www.gardeningknowhow.com/ornamental/trees/crepe-myrtle/best-crepe-myrtle-pruning-time-when-to-prune-crepe-myrtle.htm
