Crapemyrtle

Few questions. My crepe myrtles seem to grow taller every year. How far back and when is the best time to prune them? Also when my garden was established back in 2010, the 2nd crepe myrtle was planted where it doesn’t get much sun and, therefore, I don’t get flowers. Is it possible to transplant a crepe myrtle?

I also have hydrangeas which have the same not enough sun problem. Can they be transplanted and what would be best time and method to do this?

The trick is digging a root ball that’s 2-3 feet in diameter and at least a foot deep so the plant comes away with enough roots to grow. Dig when the soil is moist, so the soil will stick to the roots. Fall is a good time to transplant, or during dormancy.
