crepe myrtle

I planted a crepe myrtle last year at the end of summer. It was about 5 feet. It is doing great; however, I needed to move it 2 or 3 feet because I saw how wide it was getting. My question is, will it survive or did I do the wrong thing moving it in the middle of summer? It was growing great, and I hope I didn’t screw it up.

Moving any plant during summer will be stressful as the heat makes it more difficult for the roots to re-establish themselves. However, as long as the tree is getting plenty of water it should be ok, though it may look a bit ragged until it fully recovers and adjusts to the new location.
