Q.Creeping Vines

Zone south | dvtid added on November 28, 2012 | Answered

I recently put up a fence around my yard and would like to plant a vine or an ivy plant that will cover it. I live in north central Fl. and we do have temps that dip below freezing several times each winter. What would be the appropriate plant in this situation?

Ivy is always a good choice to cover something, but there are many more plants available. Something you might want to do is plant your "base" material to grow, but supplement it with an annual that will grow like crazy for a season. Depending on the look you prefer, you could have color, green, or both year around by choosing the right plant material.
