creeping tyme

We have a bed of creeping tyme from last year, most of the plants are brown and look dried up and dead, except for the ends. The ends still have green foliage on them. Should we pull out the last years plants to start this years new crop? Or should we care for the brown plants and they will renew.

You should be able to just prune them back. This is done in the spring to rejuvenate them.
Watering them in the spring will also help the green up.
Water with about an inch of water, you should get moisture to a depth of 6 inches.
