Q.Creeping Fig Vine
When planting the vines, how far apart should they be? Will 5 hours of sun hurt the vines?
If you direct the vines sideways they will grow 20 ft or longer wide (if you direct some east and some west you could get away with planting 20 ft apart and they grow side vines that will fill up the fence. These plants as they mature will become thick and can become overgrown so spreading it out sideways gives you more coverage on the fence and takes longer before you will need to thin/prune.
Are you planting along a fence? Trellis?
I would recommend approx 12" spacing for your plantings to plant along a fence. If it is a smaller area, such as a trellis you could space further apart.
Shade or part shade is the recommended growing condition, and 5 hours of sunlight should be fine.
