Create A Duplicate Of An Existing Tree.

Question

I have a Bodhi Tree ( the kind of tree under where Lord Budha was enlightened.) I want to create a sapling from this tree ( make a duplicate of this tree ). I have tried cutting branches and planting it inside the pot with soil but it soon withers and no success. Is there a way to make another pot of this same tree. Please HELP. Many thanks and regards.
