Crape Myrtles…Can They Propagate on Their Own?

I just discovered about 15 young trees in my backyard. They look like crape myrtles. Is it possible they propagated on their own?

Yes, it is totally plausible. Some of the seedpods may have dropped to the ground or were carried off (even eaten) by birds and the subsequent seeds left to germinate where ever they landed.
