Crape Myrtles

Question

I live in Louisville,  KY and have a 3-yr old crape myrtle. It’s about 9 ft tall. I’d like to move the tree to my mom’s in the same area of KY. How and when should I do this transplant?

I advise people to wait until the leaves fall off before digging and continue to water every other week until the new year. Get as large a root ball as possible.
