Cosmos Dwarf Sensations Mix – Flowers are twisted and crippled

Place: Kerala, South India
Current Temperature: 30-35 degree Celsius

Hi,

I’ve recently grown some dwarf cosmos sensation mix from seeds and transplanted it to a wooden container as shown in the picture. I’ve been waiting all the time desperately to see it blooming. But unfortunately as the flowers started to appear, it was all crippled and twisted and even the leaves of some plants were drying up and some plants even completely wilted and I had to throw it away. Please tell me what’s happening and can anything be done?

Distorted flowers can be a sign of the Leafhopper pests.
