Cornus Alternifolia Hardwood Cuttings

It is late October. If hardwood cuttings of Cornus alternifolia become rooted, how can they be held until spring?

You can either use a cold frame or place the sprouts near the foundation of the house with the container covered with either mulch or leaves. That should protect them through the winter.
